New MHMS Chicagoland Officers and Directors Elected

New officers and directors for the were elected at the August 16 annual meeting of the MHMS Chicagoland Chapter. Officers re-elected for the 2010-2011 program year were Jason Lukas, president; Noreen Ryan, secretary; Glenn Scott, treasurer; Keith Jankowski, vice president, programs; and Dan Conlon, vice president, communication.

MHMS Chicagoland Members Tour Largest In-House Print Distribution Center
Some 30 members of the Chicagoland Chapter of the Materials Handling and Management Society toured Allstate Insurance Company's massive Print Communication Center in Wheeling. On a daily basis, the facility picks for shipping 1,500-3,000 orders from more than 20,000 SKUs and sends out more than a million pieces of mail per day. (MORE)

  Logistics Professionals Band Together to Coordinate Disaster Aid
 

After Hurricane Katrina wreaked havoc on New Orleans and the nearby Gulf coast, a group of concerned logistics professionals got together to form ALAN -- The American Logistics Aid Network -- to help establish a mechanism to improve the effectiveness of getting relief supplies where they're most needed.
