Facts About CAMH Certification
Who:
You and your colleagues within the materials handling industry who are looking to document their professional accomplishments.
     
What:
  The Chicagoland chapter of the Material Handling Management Society occasionally offers the CAMH (Certified Associate in Materials Handling) examination. Successful completion of this exam entitles you to the CAMH professional designation on all business correspondence, not to mention the envy of your peers!
     
Why:
  To document your credentials as having mastered the fundamental concepts and technologies of the continuously evolving materials handling profession. It’s also the prerequisite toward our more advanced offering, PCMH (Professional Certified in Materials Handling). We are offering you the chance to earn a specialized degree in the materials handling field, bettering your future opportunities!

How:
  Here's what you will need to do to prepare for the CAMH Exam:
   
   
  • Collect three recommendation letters in support of your application. (Click here to download a fill-in-the-blanks form letter to use to gather your recomendations.)
   
  • Mail your completed form and recommendation letters with a check for $100 made payable to Chicagoland Chapter, MHMS.
   
  • Upon receipt of your registration form, you will be mailed the CAMH Tutorial.
   
  • Take the exam on the test day, where we will review the tutorial as a group prior to the exam.
   
  • Successfully complete the multiple choice exam.
     
Requirements for
CAMH Certification
 

To achieve CAMH Certification, you must have a minimum of eight combined experience requirements in the materials handling field:

 
 
  • 1 credit/year of formal college or university education (maximum of 4 allowed)
 
 
  • 1 credit/year of full time industry employment
 
 
  • 1 credit/year for every 3 certified material handling Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) earned
 
 
  • 1 credit earned Material Handling Institute Certificate
 
 
  • 1 credit per earned certification in a related discipline such as warehousing, logistics & production and inventory management
 
 
  • 1 credit for teachers each time a formal material handling/facilities planning course was taught at an accredited college or university
 
 
  • 1 credit for being a registered Professional Engineer
 
 
  • 1 credit for 4 published papers or articles related to material handling (1 credit maximum allowed)
